Renovation and Maintenance of the District Court Facade in Krosno

It is a three-story building with a basement and an unused attic from 1913, located in city centre. After the analysis and inspection of the elevation, the repeatability of the damage was found. At each window opening, scratches in the corners of the window lintel supports are visible; it is the result of uneven distribution of pressure loads on the perimeter wall and penetration of rainwater. The scratches on the cracks in the corners of the window openings are deep. The wall structure should be strengthened using additional reinforcement built into the joint of the brick thread of the wall. The second visible destruction of the basement plinth is the swelling of the plaster and peeling of the facade paint. The reason is the saturation of the plaster structure with moisture and salting-out in the form of efflorescence and swells under the facade paint. Another destructive element is the algae growth on the stone part of the building. The damages mentioned above result from significant shading and the inability to sufficiently dry the accumulated moisture in the plaster structure
